The amount of work that went into Designer Drugs is more than anything I’ve ever poured into an Aroha Silhouettes collection and I’m proud to say that, for the first time ever, I photographed the entire collection myself. I had wanted to do a laboratory inspired photoshoot for years and the Designer Drugs Collection couldn’t have been a more perfect concept for the theme.

The pieces were really fun to design too, it was kind of like experimenting with complicated little puzzle pieces to find the perfect eye-catching wearable combination. The Overdose Necklace in particular took an insane number of hours to design (I’ve actually been working on it since May 2012!) and the ‘pile’ of failed designs was ridiculous.

I’m so stoked with how it all came together in the end because there were certainly some sleep deprived times where I didn’t think I was going to be able to pull it all off.
